vinNebraska Summer Wine Festival

The 2009 VINNEBRASKA Summer Wine Festival was the soiree of the season! This first-year event, which took place on Saturday, August 22nd at Rockbrook Village, was a delight for all five senses. A crowd of over 350 attendees indulged in wine tasting, bidding in live and silent auctions, exploring an exhibition of one-of-a-kind artwork, listening to music from Heidi Joy and her band, Riverside Anthology and taking a tasty tour of appetizers from Jaipur, Taste, Pasta Amore and desserts from The Garden Café.

In true VINNEBRASKA fashion, the wine tastings offered were world class. Attending wineries included both national and regional vineyards and distributors, such as Monticello Vineyards, Goosecross Cellars, Big Cottonwood Vineyards, Seghesio Family Vineyards, Silver Oak and Twomey Cellars, Flora Springs Winery and Vineyards, DiLorenzo-Penke Distributors, Platinum Distributors, Republic National Distributors-Eagle and Falcon divisions, Sterling Distributors and Synergy Distributors.

The benefitting charity of the VINNEBRASKA Summer Wine Festival, was The Partnership For Our Kids, a program which is comprised of two youth serving organizations, All Our Kids and Winners Circle. Winners Circle and All Our Kids joined forces in 2007 to help more disadvantaged students from pre-kindergarten through high school to stay in school and graduate. Today, The Partnership For Our Kids serves more than 4,500 at-risk youth from Omaha Public Schools and provides services for 12 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 4 high schools. The vision of the Partnership For Our Kids is to create a community of caring for students from pre-kindergarten through high school to help more disadvantaged youth to graduate and pursue higher education.
