Thanks to a special grant from Omaha Steaks International, many sixth grade students in the Bright Futures Partnership program, as well as one-to-one mentoring students have had the opportunity to explore new places and discover new skills. Some of the interesting experiences offered to the kids through the Career Exploration Academy include:

• Touring the Eppley Airfield Fire Department
• Learning about Television Production with Jim Nelson Media Services
• Painting murals with the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts
• Getting a behind the scenes tour at the Holland Performing Arts Center
• Learning about career opportunities at the Henry Doorly Zoo
• Exploring medical professions at the University of Nebraska Medical Center
